The Podcast

High in the Canopy

She's an advocate for love; he a lone wolf of wicked intelligence and wit. Together, John and Merrilee open the lines to an intimate conversation.

About the Show

An Unscripted Conversation

High in the Canopy is John and Merrilee's own show — an unscripted conversation that ran for 168 episodes from 2023 into 2024, touching everything from Yellowstone and Titanic to Saint Thomas Aquinas, money versus happiness, and the meaning of love. Sometimes philosophy, often play, always the two of them.

The title earned itself. As one episode puts it: flying high in the canopy, John and Merrilee swerve and dance — John flying cover, Merrilee staying on his wing. No turn is too tight, and no topic is off the flight plan.
